9 MONTHS!!!!!

Dear Baby Brooklyn,
I can't believe you are nine months old. Well to be exact nine months 2 weeks and 3 days. Yes I am behind in posting now that you are crawling I am always on the move. At nine months old you love to crawl, You have recently learned how to pick up your speed and as daddy and I say you haul bum now. You follow me around the house in the day and I love it.
Wow I can't even tell you how much stuff you have learned just in the past few weeks. You are definitely starting to get your personality and I love it. You know consistently wave HI and BYE to people. Usually it is after we have turned our backs and started walking away but sometime you get it right. You give everyone kisses and you have learned to blow kisses. I love that you do this because it makes all your aunts, uncles, grandma's, grandpa's, and especially your parents feel so loved. You are such a sweet girl but still are not very cuddly but we are always working on that.
Lately you have learned to point your finger, and when I say point your finger it is an all day thing. You point when I am talking, you try to pick your nose, and you point for no reason. The other day I had you in your bouncer watching your favorite sing along movie while I did the dishes. I came in the room five minutes later to see you with your hand straight in the air and your finger sticking up. I sat and waited for your arm to get tired or for you to want to use that hand to hold your bottle but you didn't. You are always doing funny things Brooklyn Jane.
Some other things you now do is pull yourself up on everything, cry when Scout gets in your way, and laugh more frequently not only when you are slap happy. THe past nine months have been so fun and I am excited to see what you learn to do this month. You are the joy in my life Brooklyn Jane and I know your daddy feels the same.
So at your nine month appointment we once again learned you are on the top of the charts for everything. We heard once again you have a bigger head ( but we all do), Grandpa Olsen use to always tell me my big head was because my brain was so large. I know you have a big brain just like mommy because you have been picking up new things so quickly ;-). You are healthy as ever and very independent the doctor said . At your appointment you,
Weighed: 21 lbs 13.6 oz 88th percentile
Height: 31 inches 98th percentile
Head was 18.75 inches 99th percentile
I love you to the moon and back baby B. Always remember that you have a heavenly Father who loves you very much. That the gospel of Jesus Christ is real and that we can be together forever by living it.
Love always,
Momma

Crawling

Dear B,
You are officially a crawler!!!! I am excited, happy, and nervous about this new step in your life. I Love watching you slowly move your way around the floor, and when I say slow I mean turtle speed slow. I am nervous about what you will try to get into now and what may end up in your mouth. I am excited because now you wont cry when something is just out of reach. I like that you are letting your mommy ease into this crawling thing with your slow crawl but I know its only days until you pick up speed.
You first crawled on Saturday August 27th. I think it is because your a daddy's girl and wanted him to be home to see you move. You had been getting into crawling position for a few weeks now but never attempted to really go anywhere. You and I have been spending a few days a week at Aunt Karissa's day care helping out while her employees took a few days off, I thought you would crawl while watching all the other kids around you crawl, climb, and walk all over the place. In fact I think I guaranteed someone Little Turtle's Day Care would be where you first learned to crawl. You proved me wrong and waited until we were in our home to crawl. Your dad and I of course were so proud of you and can't believe how much you are learning lately. Please go easy on me and at least try to stay away from the lovely brick wall in our home. I love you Brookie Brooks.
Love always,
Mommy

Sleep like a baby

Dear Baby Brooklyn,
Tonight you gave a whole new meaning to the phrase " Sleep like a baby" when I found you asleep like this.....

I don't know if this sudden tiredness was do to you not feeling well lately or to how active you were an hour prior. I was cracking up when I came out from putting sheets on your crib to find you zonked out. You are always making me laugh and doing silly things. I love you Brooklyn Jane.
Love Always,
Mommy

Kisses

Baby B,
This week is the start of our new adventure in life. Dad began dental school on monday and as a few days have passed I have grown to realize he is going to be gone more then I had even anticipated. The two of us are going to have lots of time together over the next four years and I am very excited about it ( I hope you are to ). You have a very sweet daddy Brooklyn, he is home for only about two hours each day and the first thing he does is give you tons of attention. I can tell he misses being able to spend time with you but we both know that being a dentist will help him be able to spend more time with you when you are a little older. I know that he loves you more than anything in the world. I know that you two will have a very cute relationship.
Any way, the reason this is titled KISSES is because you have begun to give kisses. So far you have hated cuddling, hated when people kissed you, and hated when anyone touched your face. So believe me when I tell you this new accomplishment shocked no one more then me. It all started when we were at grandma and grandpa Tawzer's house. We had just sent dad off for his first day of dental school and we went to pick up Scout after they had been watching him while we were in Washington, seeing the Bjorn's. my dad, grandpa, sister and her kids, and Homer and Joyce. We were sitting on the floor in their T.V room and I said give mommy a kiss all of a sudden you leaned over and kissed me right on the lips. I had no clue you even knew what the word kiss meant. So of course you know me I made you do it over and over again. This week you have kissed me and your dad more then you probably will the rest of your life. You are so quick to give kisses whenever we ask and only hesitate after we have made you give us four in a row. You make me so happy Brooklyn all of the time. Now if we could work on your cuddling skills you would be the worlds most amazing baby.
Thank you for being such a great baby the past 8 months. You are such a sweetheart and have the most easy going temperament . People Love being around you and I know it will be like this your whole life. I love how you are so patient with me when I make you give me 20 kisses in an hour. You fill my bucket Brooklyn Jane. I can't imagine my life without you. I am excited that you and I will have four years to develop a strong relationship while daddy is in school. Always know that he would be here every second if he could but he is going to school so he can provide a living for us and take care of us in the future. I love you and your big open mouth kisses. Love you to the moon and back.
Love always,
Mommy

Milestones

Dear Baby Brooklyn,
One of the best things about being a mom is watching you grow and develop. From discovering your feet to sitting up each moment in my eyes is amazing. Just this past week you have discovered clapping and waving.
Clap, Clap,Clap........ On Sunday August 7th I was in the kitchen and you were with daddy in the living room. All of a sudden dad yells and says she is clapping. At first I thought it was just by chance but every day since you have clapped and clapped. I love when you clap because usually it is when you are excited about something. You also know how to build your moms confidence, today I was singing to you as we were sitting on the floor, you look up at me with your beautiful brown eyes and start clapping. Now I know I don't have a great voice but when your little girl claps for you it makes you feel like you are the best singer in the world. I love having you around for so many reasons.
Bye bye. Tonight was so much fun since the Olsen cousins were in town. Of course Mikelle took great care of you like she always does with kids. If we lived in Utah she would with out a doubt be your baby sitter. We went downtown and had pizza and ice cream with them. It is always so good to see family and catch up. I hope you always know that family is the most important thing to your daddy and I. As we were saying bye to them I told you to say bye bye and all of a sudden you started waving. Right then I tell them that this has not happened before and it must of just been luck but then you continued to do it. I realize now that once you do something once you won't forget it, you're a quick learner.
I love watching you grow and develop everyday. This week it has been clapping and waving maybe next week it will be crawling ;-). You just never know what your going to do and when and I love that about you. Thanks for being my sweet baby girl.I love you to the moon and back.
Love always,
Mommy

California 2011

Baby B,
You officially now have gone on the Olsen family beach vacation. This has been a tradition in mommy's family for as long as I can remember. We stay on a beautiful island called Balboa Island. It is in Orange County California and near the famous Newport beach. This year was extra special though because it was the first year in Nanny and Papa's new beach home. I am sure you will grow to love Balboa Island just like your dad and I have.
This year we had a great crowd. You got to spend time with your cousins Kate, Christian, Hadley and Sammy. They all loved you and each morning when you woke up they would take turns holding you, it was always a competition who got to hold you first. They loved pushing you in your stroller, holding you on the beach, playing with you in the ocean, and feeding you. You are lucky to have so many cousins that love you on both mommy's and daddy's side of the family. Sometimes you got a little overwhelmed with so many kids in your face but for the most part you loved every second.
This year we spent a lot of time going to the little beach. This is the beach that surrounds the island and is great for kids to play at. Papa bought new toys and you got to play on some of them. You rode on the paddle board and went on the kaiak with me and dad. Nanny and Papa bought you an infant life jacket that you did not like to wear because it was so big around your neck. One of the Olsen's traditions is the family boardwalk bike ride. We all take beach cruisers and head down the newport boardwalk to jane's corn dog, where we indulge in cheese dogs and lemonade. This is one of your daddy's favorite places in California. This year you rode on the back of a blue beach cruiser and loved it until you got tired. You went on your first ferry ride, to the pet store in fashion island mall, and to the movie ZOO keeper (horrible movie). We had lots of fun and I can't wait for you to learn the Olsen family beach traditions and to create some of our own as well. Next year you will actually be able to eat the famous DAD'S donuts and balboa bar. Vacationing with you has made vacations much more fun and memorable. I love you baby B.
Love Always,
Mommy
