California 2011

Baby B,
You officially now have gone on the Olsen family beach vacation. This has been a tradition in mommy's family for as long as I can remember. We stay on a beautiful island called Balboa Island. It is in Orange County California and near the famous Newport beach. This year was extra special though because it was the first year in Nanny and Papa's new beach home. I am sure you will grow to love Balboa Island just like your dad and I have.
This year we had a great crowd. You got to spend time with your cousins Kate, Christian, Hadley and Sammy. They all loved you and each morning when you woke up they would take turns holding you, it was always a competition who got to hold you first. They loved pushing you in your stroller, holding you on the beach, playing with you in the ocean, and feeding you. You are lucky to have so many cousins that love you on both mommy's and daddy's side of the family. Sometimes you got a little overwhelmed with so many kids in your face but for the most part you loved every second.
This year we spent a lot of time going to the little beach. This is the beach that surrounds the island and is great for kids to play at. Papa bought new toys and you got to play on some of them. You rode on the paddle board and went on the kaiak with me and dad. Nanny and Papa bought you an infant life jacket that you did not like to wear because it was so big around your neck. One of the Olsen's traditions is the family boardwalk bike ride. We all take beach cruisers and head down the newport boardwalk to jane's corn dog, where we indulge in cheese dogs and lemonade. This is one of your daddy's favorite places in California. This year you rode on the back of a blue beach cruiser and loved it until you got tired. You went on your first ferry ride, to the pet store in fashion island mall, and to the movie ZOO keeper (horrible movie). We had lots of fun and I can't wait for you to learn the Olsen family beach traditions and to create some of our own as well. Next year you will actually be able to eat the famous DAD'S donuts and balboa bar. Vacationing with you has made vacations much more fun and memorable. I love you baby B.
Love Always,
Mommy

Catch Up

Dear Baby B,
I have been horrible at posting all the things that have happened the past month or so, so I thought I would play catch up in one post. First off, last month we went to Hawaii with Grandma and Grandpa Tawzer, Karissa and Craig, and Chiami and Zack. Yes you were the only kid and you loved soaking up al the attention. Before we left I was worried about the long airplane ride but once again you amazed me and did great. We got you a digi player on the plane and let you watch some cartoons. It is so funny how much you love watching movies but I am thankful for it sometimes when I need to shower, get ready, or clean the house. You absolutely loved Hawaii. We bought you your first pair of sunglasses and you would not take them off. You looked so cute in your pink shades and swimming suits that you soon became the talk around the hotel pool. You LOVED swimming in the pool and even took your first swim in the ocean. You went on your first boat ride and did great. You had your first taste of virgin lava flows, shaved ice, and yogurt. It was such a fun trip and having you around made it even better.

On July 2nd you turned 7 months old. Time has gone by so fast and I wish I could keep you little for a longer period of time. I have loved every minute of being your mom. You have brightened our home and always keep us laughing.
At seven months you
- Love to laugh at mommy
- Babble a lot
- Sleep through the night
- Love to play with other kids
- Sit up by your self
- Started getting your first tooth
- Love to look in the mirror

We love you and can't wait for all the fun things to come.
Love always and forever,
Your mom
